Kelsey Ruszel, RDN, LD, IFNCP

Hello, I’m Kelsey. With 12 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in primary care, I guide clients with a practical, personalized approach focused on sustainable habits, balanced (and delicious!) meals, and realistic goals.

I became a dietitian because I love food in every form: cooking, gardening, supporting local farmers, exploring new restaurants, and sharing meals with my kids, family, and community. I believe enjoying food and improving health absolutely go hand-in-hand.

As a Registered Dietitian, I use an evidence-based approach while recognizing that science is always evolving and there is no one-size-fits-all plan for any condition or phase of life. With a functional and holistic lens, I provide reliable support that’s well rounded and personalized to YOU. We’ll look at the whole picture—food, sleep, stress, movement, and supplements—to help you feel your best and improve your health.

I can help with: diabetes, insulin resistance, pre diabetes, high cholesterol/triglycerides, weight loss (including GLP-1 use), high blood pressure, digestive wellness, PCOS, as well as pregnancy, preconception, fertility, and postpartum care. As a mom of two girls, I also love supporting families in feeding their kids in a healthy, non-diet way.

I live in Boise, Idaho with my husband, my two daughters and my dog Tessa. My goal is to help you reclaim your health, restore balance, and live with vitality.

FAQs

  • Reach out and I will verify your plan’s specific coverage. Many plans have $0 copay for nutrition appointments. I’m in process of credentialing with several health insurances.

  • No a referral is generally not required - unless your specific plan states you need a referral. Contact me and we will check on your plans requirements.

  • Before our first visit we will chat over email about your insurance plan’s coverage for nutrition visits. The first visit is a 55 minute virtual appointment. It is a full assessment of your health history including labwork, symptoms, family history, typical food choices and preferences. We’ll focus on realistic, personalized nutrition strategies—like meal planning, grocery tips, managing hunger and fullness, and balancing healthy food for your lifestyle. Each plan is tailored to your health goals, life stage, and unique needs. We will set up a plan for ongoing follow up visits based on your preferences. I like to see most people about every 1-2 weeks for about 4 visits, then space them out to monthly or as needed. Or continue with regular follow up until you meet your goals.
